Through photography, Matthieu Coutaz brings to light the work of artists and galleries, highlighting their creative approaches and unique worlds. His deep understanding of the art scene, its codes and expectations, shapes a precise eye and a finely tuned practice.
Through his work, he seeks to give meaning to spaces, translating into images the subtle relationship between architecture, art and light. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, alongside studies in international art markets at ICART Paris, he became immersed early on in the world of contemporary art.
He found an art gallery in Arles, an experience through which he supported artists in developing their projects and gained a concrete, practical understanding of how the art market operates. He continued his career within renowned contemporary art galleries, refining his reading of the sector’s practices, challenges and demands.
Today, he brings a careful eye to places and artworks, drawing out what defines them with accuracy. A specialist in exhibition documentation, he employs a rigorous technique in which light and color serve artistic integrity. Thanks to a finely calibrated production process, he delivers images of exceptional precision, ready for publication on social media as well as in art catalogues.
